Poet Luke Wright pens tribute to World War One soldiers

A poet has paid tribute to those that fought in International Struggle One with a poem concerning the build-up to leaving for combat.

Luke Wright, from Colchester, was once requested to jot down 5 items concerning the lives of people and communities in Essex all over the Nice Struggle – one for every 12 months of the battle.

This one, known as The King’s Head, Harwich, is about in 1918, as younger males met to consider their departure.

Sunday marks the centenary of the top of International Struggle One, at 11:00 at the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918.
